Craftsman's hands working with precision tools on a workbench

Andro Joubert

Andro Joubert is a young, ambitious knifemaker from South Africa who made the bold decision to turn his lifelong passion into a full-time craft. On December 1st, 2024, he officially committed to making knives professionally, and has not looked back since.

His journey did not happen overnight. Andro trained under the guidance of Jaco de Kock, one of South Africa's most respected custom knifemakers. In Jaco's shop, Andro learned the fundamentals of precision blade work, from hollow grinding to the intricate mechanics of framelock and linerlock folding knives.

Every day brings something new: a new technique to master, a new material to explore, a new design to push forward. Andro puts his heart and soul into every detail of his knives, ensuring each one that leaves his workshop meets his exacting standards.

His brother works on a farm in the USA and regularly takes a bagful of Andro's knives across the Atlantic. This connection has quietly given Andro's work an international presence, with his blades finding homes well beyond South African borders.
